Currently in California, a party to a conversation must obtain consent from all parties before recording it. The Record Yourself (RY) initiative will change that. If successful, Californians will be able to record their conversations without consent from other participants. One-party consent laws are an invaluable tool for women, the elderly, minorities, and other members of society who have been either marginalized or abused throughout history.

Contribute To This Project
Revenue from GovUNLEASHED memberships funds the administrative side of this project. While we're hyperefficient and transparent, financial support from the public is vital if this project is to succeed. No less than 100% of your contribution goes towards project expenses. Supporters that contribute at least $15 over a 30-day rolling period receive RSVP access to weekly progress meetings where all aspects (incl. expenditures & contributions received) of the project are fully accessible.
How do we steward contributions?
Technology Infrastructure: Server(s), bandwidth, website maintenance, and other 3rd party expenses (i.e., testimonials storage, transaction fees, and document storage).
Community Outreach & Legislative Changes: Organize public events, distribute informational flyers, hire short-term staff, and launch initiative/referendum (if needed).
